Are you ready to have your best holiday sales season ever? You’re in the right place! Here are my top 3 tips to instantly improve your product photography and inspire potential buyers to click “add to cart” and become raving fans of you and your business.
1. Incorporate Your Personality
If someone is searching Etsy, Pinterest, or Instagram for holiday cards and gifts, it’s because they value supporting small businesses, want to buy from a real person, and love unique products. Simply put, these people enjoy buying from people. Show your personality and that you are a real person with a point of view in your photography through color, prop selection, lighting, and layout.
2. Invite them Behind the Scenes
As a product-based business, there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating the gorgeous end result (and buyers love to see how you do what you do!). A styled scene that shows your hands painting, wrapping packages, even designing on the computer help buyers understand the value of what you create and why your prices might be higher than going to a big-box store for a similar product.
3. Meticulously Edit Your Images
Every professional photographer edits their images to create a specific aesthetic and can often take a photo from meh to amazing! My favorite editing platform is Adobe Lightroom which offers both a paid and free desktop and app versions. Minimize shadows, even your lighting, brighten your whites, and keep your colors true-to-life.
